Topology of Cayley graphs applied to inverse additive problems

چکیده
We present the basic isopermetric structure theory, obtaining some new simplified proofs. Let 1 ≤ r ≤ k be integers. As an application, we obtain simple descriptions for the subsets S of an abelian group with |kS| ≤ k|S|−k+1 or |kS−rS|−(k+r)|S|, where where S denotes as usual the Minkowski sum of copies of S. These results may be applied to several questions in Combinatorics and Additive Combinatorics including the Frobenius Problem, Waring’s problem in finite fields and the structure of abelian Cayley graphs with a big diameter.

Additive Bases and Extremal Problems in Groups, Graphs and Networks
Bases in sets and groups and their extremal problems have been studied in additive number theory such as the postage stamp problem. On the other hand, Cayley graphs based on specific finite groups have been studied in algebraic graph theory and applied to construct efficient communication networks such as circulant networks with minimum diameter (or transmission delay). In this paper we establi...
متن کاملOn the eigenvalues of normal edge-transitive Cayley graphs
A graph $Gamma$ is said to be vertex-transitive or edge- transitive if the automorphism group of $Gamma$ acts transitively on $V(Gamma)$ or $E(Gamma)$, respectively. Let $Gamma=Cay(G,S)$ be a Cayley graph on $G$ relative to $S$. Then, $Gamma$ is said to be normal edge-transitive, if $N_{Aut(Gamma)}(G)$ acts transitively on edges. In this paper, the eigenvalues of normal edge-tra...
متن کاملOn the distance eigenvalues of Cayley graphs
In this paper, we determine the distance matrix and its characteristic polynomial of a Cayley graph over a group G in terms of irreducible representations of G. We give exact formulas for n-prisms, hexagonal torus network and cubic Cayley graphs over abelian groups. We construct an innite family of distance integral Cayley graphs. Also we prove that a nite abelian group G admits a connected...
متن کاملSymmetries and Sense of Direction in Labeled Graphs
We consider distributed systems modeled by edge-labeled graphs. Properties of the labeling can be used in the design of eecient protocols; for example, sense of direction is known to have a strong impact on the communication complexity of many distributed problems. In this paper, we analyze some relations between topology and symmetries in labeled graphs. In particular, we characterize the clas...
متن کاملCayley Color Graphs of Inverse Semigroups and Groupoids
The notion of Cayley color graphs of groups is generalized to inverse semigroups and groupoids. The set of partial automorphisms of the Cayley color graph of an inverse semigroup or a groupoid is isomorphic to the original inverse semigroup or groupoid. The groupoid of color permuting partial automorphisms of the Cayley color graph of a transitive groupoid is isomorphic to the original groupoid.
